The Reef

Luke, his friend Matt and his girlfriend Suzie and Matt's sister and Luke's former girlfriend Kate sail with him and the sailor Warren. However, the vessel hits an underwater rock and capsizes with an opening on her bottom. Luke advises that they should swim in the north direction to reach the Turtle Island, in Queensland, Australia, while they have strength since there is a current moving the boat in the opposite direction of land but Warren prefers to stay on the hull waiting for help since there are sharks in the water. The quartet swims, but they are hunted by a great white shark. Rated 3 out of 10 coz it was oh so boring.

You Again

When a young woman realizes her brother is about to marry the girl who bullied her in high school, she sets out to expose the fiancée's true colors.
Thoroughly enjoyed this film. So funny that everyone meets someone else that either they bullied, or who bullied them. As with most chick flicks, everything is ok in the end. This isn't one for the kids, but teenagers will surely enjoy it. Il rate as 7 out of 10, as i prefer a bit of action :)

Parole officer Jack Mabry (Robert De Niro) has only a few weeks left before retirement and wishes to finish out the cases he's been assigned. One case is Gerald "Stone" Creeson(Edward Norton), a convicted arsonist who is up for parole. Stone arranges for his wife Lucetta (Milla Jovovich) to seduce the officer, but motives and intentions steadily blur amidst the passions and buried secrets of the corrupted players in this deadly game of deception.

After con artist Eddie Sullivan (Feuerstein) incurs a large debt with a local criminal ringleader, he creates a get-rich-quick scheme and enlists a sweet gentle giant named Walter (Wight) as his unwitting accomplice. Walter's orphanage -- the only home he's ever known -- also needs funds desperately. Upon overhearing Walter's predicament, Eddie convinces the no-nonsense head nun, Sister Francesca (Malick), that Walter can win the money as a fighter and pay off the church's debts. Eddie's plan: travel from town to town with Walter and enter small, unsanctioned fighting competitions for prize money Sister Francesca dispatches Mary (Hardin) as a chaperone for both Walter and the money and gives Eddie a week - and a prayer - to make it happen. During their journey across the south to the annual Pro-Am MMA tournament in New Orleans, Walter discovers what life is like outside the orphanage, while Eddie becomes morally conflicted over whether to take all the loot for himself or keep his promise to Walter, the one person he can actually call a friend.

Due Date

High-strung father-to-be Peter Highman is forced to hitch a ride with aspiring actor Ethan Tremblay on a road trip in order to make it to his child's birth on time.

Despicable Me

When a criminal mastermind uses a trio of orphan girls as pawns for a grand scheme, he finds himself profoundly changed by the growing love between them.

Loved this film and so did the kids. Gru and Vector are at heads to be the best villain. Vector is currently winning having just stolen a pyramid. Vector steals a shrinking ray from Gru, who had just stolen it himself, and both of them are in a race to steal the moon(shrink it and bring it back to earth). Gru adopts 3 little girls and uses them to distract Vector during his attempts to get the shrinking ray back.
We then discover that items that are shrunk return to their original size not long after, so then there is more fun trying to return the moon. Excellent film for all ages and a definate 8 out of 10.

The Kid

Kevin Lewis never had a chance. Growing up on a poverty-stricken London council estate, beaten and starved by his parents, bullied at school and abandoned by social services, his life was never his own. Even after he was put into care, he found himself out on the streets caught up in a criminal underworld that knew him as 'The Kid'. Yet Kevin survived to make a better life for himself.
Awesome film, a definate 8 out of 10 if you like disurbing and true stories.

The Experiment

I rented this out of interest. Didn't sound great, but I thought with Adrien Brody and Forest Whitaker in it, it may be good. And it was sure worth the rental.
26men are used in a test, where they are all sent to a test prison facility. Some are to become guards, and the rest are inmates. The test is to see how they all deal with their situation. It is actually very interesting to see how the men psychologically evolve, and how they think under such duress. OK its not brilliant, but well worth the rental. 6 out of 10.

The Social Network

Had I realised that this film was about the creation of facebook, I probably wouldn't have bothered. But by the time I realised I was actually hooked. I have to admit this really is a one off watch, I doubt I will buy this on DVD, and I know my kids will not be interested in this film. But I really do suggest watching this film at least once.
I can't really say too much about the plot(as many people will know the story already), but I do recommend this film. 7 out of 10, as it kept me hooked.

The American

George Clooney is great, and this film is upto his usual excellence. Proper synopsis and review will follow when i get enough time :)

Eat Pray Love

I love Julia Roberts but I really did not like this film. So sorry no review as I actually walked out and went for a McDonalds :p.

Lottery Ticket

Awesome film. Not BUY quality but a really good way to spend 90 or so minutes.
Kevin Carson(Bow Wow) buy a lottery ticket using the numbers in his fortune cookie and wins bigtime. Unfortunately his mum spreads the word and suddenly everyone is his friend. But as expected someone wants to steal his ticket and take the money. Meanwhile theres a weirdo friend(Icecube) who hides kinda under the street and give Kevin advice. All in all a great romp and fun to watch.
