Devil

Hmmm. Not great, but OK. Was worth the watch, but all seemed completely unbelievable, and to be honest a bit messed up.

Briefly put. Five people become stuck in an elevator, and one-by-one they each incur either horiffic injuries, or death. Of course everyone blames each other. So the devil is killing these people, because they have done something horrific to someone else in their past and so must pay. But once we realise who the devil actually is, the last remaining character standing confesses, and apologises for his sins. Because of this the devil must spare this poor soul. The twist here, is that this person is infact the accidental killer of the detective in charges son.
Definitely one to rent before considering buying. 5 out of 10.

Bonded By Blood

Don't watch this unless ur British lol. A typical British gangster film. I loved it, but then I think Michael Socha is great. Not a big budget flick but the tension is there, and the director did a great job.

In 1995, drug suppliers and career criminals Tony Tucker, Patrick Tate and Craig Rolfe were blasted to death by a shot gun whilst waiting in a Range Rover in Rettendon, Essex. The film charts their rise to become the most prolific dealers and feared criminals in the south of England, maintaining the hold on their empire with fear and violence until their untimely death.

Alpha And Omega

Two young wolves at opposite ends of their pack's social order, are captured, and removed from their homeland. There is severe rivally between Kates pack, and the Eastern pack. Kate accepts an arranged marriage with Garth of the Eastern pack to unite the packs for peace, whilst Humphrey, is in love with Kate, but is not allowed to marry her, as he is just a simple omega.
Kate and Humphrey are captured by the park's rangers and sent to an Idaho park as part of a wolf re-population project. Kate is determined to return to wed Garth, and Humphrey offers to help with the assistance of two very strange geese. During this time, Garth find attraction to Kates sister Eve. I don't want to spoil it all but all comes well in the end. An excellent film for the children, but is also great for adults too. All in all a respectable 9 out of 10.

127 Hours

Oh no I thought as I sat down to watch this. 90 minutes of watching a bloke stuck in a crevice. How exciting......... Oh how I was wrong with my sarcasm.
This really is one of those films that grows on you. I can honestly say, by the time the young man(James Franko), got himself free, I was wishing the worst, and hoping he would stay stuck. The film simply ended too quickly. I was soo sucked in. I just can't explain it.
This is definately not a kids film, simply because they will not understand the point of the film.
Just do yourself a favour and watch this film. It is simply amazing. 10 out of 10.

13 (Thirteen)

A young man(Jack), takes the identity of another man, who has just been murdered. Believing he can takeover the occupation of the dead man, Jack follows the directions given in a letter, hoping that he will earn lots of money.
Unfortunately, little does he know that the job entails standing in a room with a gun to his head. A selection of people stand in a circle, each with a gun to his head. Each person spins the barrel of their gun, until the light goes out(cant remember if its on or off lol). When this happens they all shoot. While this is happening their owner, i guess you could call them, is betting, and taking bets on who survives or dies.
I did personally enjoy the film, but its not for everyone. Not the greatest film, and no i will never watch it again, but I did not feel I had wasted my time watching it. I say watch it if you have nothing better to do. A max 4 out of 10 from me.

However, the vessel hits an underwater rock and capsizes with an opening on her bottom. Luke advises that they should swim in the north direction to reach the Turtle Island, in Queensland, Australia, while they have strength since there is a current moving the boat in the opposite direction of land but Warren prefers to stay on the hull waiting for help since there are sharks in the water. The quartet swims, but they are hunted by a great white shark. Rated 3 out of 10 coz it was oh so boring.

You Again

When a young woman realizes her brother is about to marry the girl who bullied her in high school, she sets out to expose the fiancée's true colors.
Thoroughly enjoyed this film. So funny that everyone meets someone else that either they bullied, or who bullied them. As with most chick flicks, everything is ok in the end. This isn't one for the kids, but teenagers will surely enjoy it. Il rate as 7 out of 10, as i prefer a bit of action :)

Despicable Me

When a criminal mastermind uses a trio of orphan girls as pawns for a grand scheme, he finds himself profoundly changed by the growing love between them.

Loved this film and so did the kids. Gru and Vector are at heads to be the best villain. Vector is currently winning having just stolen a pyramid. Vector steals a shrinking ray from Gru, who had just stolen it himself, and both of them are in a race to steal the moon(shrink it and bring it back to earth). Gru adopts 3 little girls and uses them to distract Vector during his attempts to get the shrinking ray back.
We then discover that items that are shrunk return to their original size not long after, so then there is more fun trying to return the moon. Excellent film for all ages and a definate 8 out of 10.

The Kid

Kevin Lewis never had a chance. Growing up on a poverty-stricken London council estate, beaten and starved by his parents, bullied at school and abandoned by social services, his life was never his own. Even after he was put into care, he found himself out on the streets caught up in a criminal underworld that knew him as 'The Kid'. Yet Kevin survived to make a better life for himself.
Awesome film, a definate 8 out of 10 if you like disurbing and true stories.

The Experiment

I rented this out of interest. Didn't sound great, but I thought with Adrien Brody and Forest Whitaker in it, it may be good. And it was sure worth the rental.
26men are used in a test, where they are all sent to a test prison facility. Some are to become guards, and the rest are inmates. The test is to see how they all deal with their situation. It is actually very interesting to see how the men psychologically evolve, and how they think under such duress. OK its not brilliant, but well worth the rental. 6 out of 10.

The Social Network

Had I realised that this film was about the creation of facebook, I probably wouldn't have bothered. But by the time I realised I was actually hooked. I have to admit this really is a one off watch, I doubt I will buy this on DVD, and I know my kids will not be interested in this film. But I really do suggest watching this film at least once.
I can't really say too much about the plot(as many people will know the story already), but I do recommend this film. 7 out of 10, as it kept me hooked.

Cats And Dogs - The Revenge Of Kitty Galore

Yay what fun. Ok not an adult film, but a really great way to waste some time. Kids loved it. I personally think Marmaduke was better but that me.
Kitty Galore(a cat, incase Kitty didn't give it away), is trying to takeover the world, by sending all the dogs on the planet mad. So the cats and dogs have to join forces to stop her. There is a new recruit Butch, who being a failed police dog because he cannot follow orders, has to learn to follow orders, so that the plan to stop Kitty does not fail. This is a very enjoyable flick for the kids, and I certainly did not mind sitting there watching it with them. Definitely a DVD purchase and a well deserved 8 out of 10.

Scott Pilgrim Vs The World

Hmm. I thought someone had swapped the tobacco in my rollup for something else watching this. Very weird film indeed. Maybe I didn't get it, but I really did not understand this film. Only my youngest 2 watched this one and lost interest after about 15 minutes.
Scott Pilgrim(Michael Cera - of Superbad fame?) has to defeat his new girlfriend's seven evil exes in order to win her heart. They all have unexplained weird superpowers, as does Scott. So simply Scott fights each ex, beating them and winning his new girlfriends heart.
A very bizarre film and sorry to say, not one I will watch again. Yes its a non-thinking film, coz if you think about it you just end up more confused. A great way to waste 90 odd minutes, but I do suggest a few beers before, and during, and probably after. 3 out of 10 which im sure il get flamed for, but I really do like to understand what is going on, and I sure didn't here.

Wall Street - Money Never Sleeps

Not a shade on the original. Maybe its the lost originality im not sure. Michael Douglas is excellent as shady Gekko again, but im afraid this aint as good.
Gekko is poor after release from prison, and befriends his estranged daughters boyfriend. The boyfriend foolishly trusts him as his mentor has been killed, and Gekko says he can tell him who did it. Now i can't say much more for ruining the film, except do not whatever you do expect this to be as great or as i guess coniving as the first. One good thing is that you really do not need to see the first film to watch this one. I did enjoy this film, but my rating is reduced compared to the first. 7 out of 10 seems fair, but only because of michael douglas. He retained the sly foxlike mentality from the first. Please if you do enjoy this film, do watch the original Wall Street, and you will not be dissapointed.
